The Approach

Wander built a modular production model where practical weather effects were integrated into every setup from day one—allowing motion and stills to be captured simultaneously without giving ground on either.

• Rain towers and water trucks sourced, permitted, and pre-rigged before day one
• Wind effect equipment staged per setup — integrated into lighting and blocking plans, not added after
• Protected location protocols: Sonoma Coast ecological restrictions dictated unit size, vehicle access, and footprint at every position
• Sound limitations from coastal wind managed through scheduling — audio-sensitive setups blocked to lower-exposure locations during peak wind windows
• Weather contingency planning built into the schedule — each setup had a defined decision point for FX deployment vs. natural conditions
• Simultaneous stills and motion capture in every setup — no company moves between formats
